Healthcare System IT Department Relocates, but Stays In-touch with TANDBERG
South Dakota's largest healthcare system recently consolidated and relocated IT department to the south side of Sioux Falls, several miles from the main campus. The organization had used videoconferencing extensively in the past for telehealth applications and general system management.
During construction of the new IT building, WTC consulted with IT staff to design a flexible, easy-to-use conference room that would allow IT to stay in touch with both Sioux Falls-based locations, as well as clinics and hospitals in the broader health system region. The H.323-based system was built around a TANDBERG 2500 codec, with automation provided by Crestron. The videoconferencing-enabled meeting room is the most highly-utilized conference room within the facility, and staff has reported that the long distance move has been seamless with TANDBERG videoconferencing.
